Beat Drop Kidz After School Program is a Hip Hop Dance Program that brings the fun of Hip Hop Dance directly into the schools! We teach Hip Hop in a Kid-Friendly & FUN way while teaching the “Code of Hip Hop” of “Peace, Unity, Love & Having Fun”. Students will learn several moves from various Urban Dance styles such as Popping, Break Dancing, Locking & more!
Early Release Advanced Model Rocketry
Advance your rocketry skills with supervised instruction in model building, including the use of wood glue, (non-toxic) plastic cement, scissors, hobby knives, knot tying, spray paint, and decals. You’ll build 2 model rockets kits and fly them up to 8 times. You’ll also receive your own launch pad and controller, a field box to hold your equipment, and the knowledge of how safely build, paint, and fly model rockets! Prior experience in Introductory Rocketry class recommended.
Early Release Chess K-5th **Ends at 2:35**
No prior experience is needed. Chess has been proven to enhance academic achievement and is a skill that will last a lifetime. Instructor, Ken Larsen, is a competitive chess player and instructor.
Early Release Crazy Critters
Get up close with animals and learn all about a new group of animals this quarter when Tucson Petting Zoo brings tortoises, rabbits, birds, bugs, etc. Take part in crafts and activities related to learning about these fascinating creatures!
Early Release Kidzart
A KidzArt certified instructor will guide students through a different project each week. Students will learn how to break projects into simple steps, art terms and vocabulary, as well as experience and learn techniques for varying drawing mediums. Each week students will bring home a different masterpiece of their own. Our curriculum never repeats!
Early Release STEM Fundamentals: Using LEGO
Level up your engineering skills with Play- Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO parts! Apply real world-concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects such as: Castles, Airplanes, and Scissor Lifts. Design and build as never before and explore your craziest ideas.
Floor Hockey K-5
Take your best shot and discover and exciting playing floor hockey can be with TGA! Our programs maximize the fun by including an exciting mix of instruction, drills, and games to develop the fundamental floor hockey skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, and goal keeping. This modified version of ice hockey can be played in regular shoes on virtually any hard surface with a small ball and hockey sticks.
Girls On The Run
Girls on the Run (GOTR), is a national non-profit school based program that encourages 3rd – 8th grade girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. The program combines training for a 3.1 mile running event with small group discussions and fun, interactive physical activities.
DISCLAIMER- GOTR will be canceled if we do not have two parent volunteer coaches by the start of the quarter! Classes will take place on Tuesday from 3:00pm-4:30pm and Monday from 1:30pm-3:00pm Every member of this class should come prepared to run with appropriate shoes and a water bottle and should bring their own snack to eat This will run from January 20th-April 25th

Learn the skills and techniques to master this field favorite and fulfill your enthusiasm for physical fitness and sportsmanship. Build team spirit and camaraderie with your teammates. Compete against other CFSD elementary school teams in a District-Wide event. Participants will receive a team shirt.
Ninja Warrior Camp K-3rd
Get ready for a challenge! This new class will give participants an opportunity to have fun testing their skills and abilities while going through various obstacles: Tunnel crawls Cone weaves, Noodle crawls, Mat Rolls, Parachute runs and much more. Different course will be set up every day. Who will be Ninja Warrior of the day?
Steel Drums 5th Grade
WEDNESDAYS This group is open to any 5th grade student with little or no experience playing steel drums. Students will learn to read and perform music on steel drums and the culture surrounding steel drum music. Students will be expected to regularly attend rehearsals, scheduled performances and help move equipment when necessary. Class meets at Canyon View Elementary, must have your own transportation.
Yoyo 2nd-5th (No Class 1/20-1/24)
Come learn hand eye coordination with Build a Skill Yoyo! Students will build their own yo-yos, learn tricks and more. Instructor, Jess Gracia has been teaching yoyo skills to large groups of students for over 15+ years. Students will be taking home two different yo-yos in this class. There will be no class on January 21st.
