Early Release Crazy Critters K-5th
Get up close with animals and learn all about a new group of animals this quarter when Tucson Petting Zoo brings tortoises, rabbits, birds, bugs, and much more. Take part in crafts and activities related to learning about these fascinating creatures!
Early Release Introductory Rocketry 3rd-5th
Students explore the science of model rocketry through hands-on experiments and building projects. During the class, students will build and fly 3 different kinds of model rockets using 2 different types of propellant and 2 different types of stability control. Lessons and experiments include principles of rocket stability, chemical reactions, and electric and electronic circuits used in rocketry.
Early Release Kidz Art K-5th
A KidzArt certified instructor that will guide students through a different project each week. Students will learn how to break projects into simple steps, art terms and vocabulary, as well as experience and learn techniques for varying drawing mediums. Each week students will bring home a different masterpiece all their own. Our curriculum never repeats!
Early Release PlayWell, Minecraft Engineering with LEGO® Materials K-5th
Bring Minecraft to life using tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineer-designed projects such as a Creeper, a Lava Trap, and a Minecart. Create your favorite Minecraft mobs, tools, and objects with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor.
Early Release TGA Floor Hockey
Take your best shot and discover how fun and exciting playing floor hockey can be with TGA! Our programs maximize the fun by including an exciting mix of instruction, drills, and games to develop the fundamental floor hockey skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, and goal keeping. This modified version of ice hockey can be played in regular shoes on virtually any hard surface with a small ball and hockey sticks.
Early Release Yoyos 2nd-5th
Come learn hand eye coordination with Build a Skill Yoyo, learn tricks and more. Students will build their own yo-yos, learn tricks and more. Instructor, Jess Gracia has been teaching yoyo skills to large groups of students for over 15+ years. Students will be taking home two different yo-yos in this class.
Friday Snow Much Fun K-3rd
Bring your creativity and imagination and become an artist in this seasonal craft fun class! Students will be working on seasonal art projects, such as haunted halloween, terrific turkey and Sonoran snowflake arts and crafts. We’ll be using ‘upcycled' materials, pipe cleaners, glitter, felt, and paint to create our very own creations.
Monday Beat Drop Kidz K-3rd
Beat Drop Kidz After School Program is a Hip Hop Dance Program that brings the fun of Hip Hop Dance directly into the schools! We teach Hip Hop in a Kid-Friendly & FUN way while teaching the “Code of Hip Hop” of “Peace, Unity, Love & Having Fun”. Students will learn several moves from various Urban Dance styles such as Popping, Break Dancing, Locking & more!
Monday Intramural Ultimate Frisbee 3rd-5th
Learn the skills and techniques to master this field favorite and fulfill your enthusiasm for physical fitness and sportsmanship. Build team spirit and camaraderie with your teammates. Compete against other CFSD elementary school teams in a District-Wide event.

Monday Ninja Warrior Camp K-3rd
Get ready for a challenge! This new class will give participants an opportunity to have fun testing their skills and abilities while going through various obstacles: Tunnel crawls, Cone weaves, Noodle crawls, Mat Rolls, Parachute runs and much more. Different course will be set up every day. Who will be Ninja Warrior of the day?
Wednesday DIY Beaded Jewelry 1st-5th
Learn how to create and design your own handmade beaded jewelry. We will use nylon-coated beading wire, beading elastic, wire, and waxed linen to create necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and hair accessories.
Unwanted and inexpensive jewelry is welcome for donations.
Wednesday Running Club 2nd-5th
This class is on Wednesday Sprint your sillies out! In this running club we will play games, run obstacle courses and compete in relay races. Practice your stride, speed and pace. Come join the fun and become a better runner. All skill levels are welcome.
Wednesday Steel Drums at Canyon View Elementary 5th grade
This group is open to any 5th grade student with little or no experience playing steel drums. Students will learn to read and perform music for the steel drums and the culture surrounding steel drum music. Students will be expected to regularly attend rehearsals, scheduled performances and help move equipment when necessary. Class meets at Canyon View Elementary, must have your own transportation.
