Late fee of 15.00 applied to all registrations after the class has begun.

Class cancelled by Community Schools (No fees charged, 100% refund).
Refund or cancellation requested before the start of class ($10 change fee for any class changes or cancellations before the quarter begins).
50% Refund after the first class.

Driver's Training
Join Stop and Go Driving School from 9am-2pm for the classroom session. The classroom sessions include everything you need to know to pass the Arizona State Permit Test and road test, as well as useful information you can use for the rest of your life. Must have valid Arizona Instructional Permit or valid Driver’s License (from any US state) to schedule or complete behind-the-wheel drivings session packages. Complete 10 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel driving with our State Certified Trainers and you will BYPASS the road test at the MVD and go directly to getting your license, no Road Testing.

Java Programming
This hands-on course introduces students to the fundamentals of Java programming via a mix of fun real-world and graphics, animation, and game-based engaging curriculum. Students learn programming concepts of variables, user inputs/output, conditionals, loops, functions, events and single dimensional array, and put them into practice via imaginative personalized activities. The programming concepts and logic learned in course are directly transferable to any other programming language. No prior coding experience is required to participate in this course. A laptop or Chromebook with internet connectivity is required to participate in this course.

3D Disney characters, a pokeball, a jewelry box, and a toucan are just some of the MANY things that can be made out of perler beads! In this class children will choose the 3D design of their choice to work on weekly utilizing patterns, their patients and creativity to create something extraordinary! The 3D perler bead patterns work like a 3D puzzle with each side of the structure designed to fit within each other. What will you make? The possibilities are endless! This is a process project class and most 3D projects will take multiple classes to complete.

Art Naturally enrichment classes are for the curiously creative child. Each week we will discover an animal and its environment and how it relates to us. We will build on that knowledge and incorporate a themed art lesson using a variety of different mediums, including; watercolors, printmaking, mixed media and more.
CLOSED: Capoeira Mandinga
Learn the flowing, beautiful Afro-Brazilian martial art Capoeira with Capoeira Mandinga Tucson. Students will learn kicks, escapes, and fluid moves that build mind and body strength, flexibility, and agility. Students also learn music that drives the energy of the Capoeira game. Capoeira increases balance, creativity, and confidence. Teachers Anne Pollack and Aidan Miller-Wells were honored with a 2019 Southwest Folklife Alliance Award. Aidan has trained capoeira over 12 years. Anne is the only master of Capoeira and Afro-Brazilian arts in the State of Arizona.
Color Me Mine
Every week the students will experience working with wood, ceramic and clay using both acrylic and water-based paints building on what they have learned the previous week to continue to improve their artistic skills.

Students will harness the power of their imaginations as they explore many facets of drama, including improv, scene building, storytelling, and creative movement. They will develop valuable skills like collaboration, public speaking, self-confidence, and the ability to think quickly and creatively; that will help them both on and off the stage.

Meet and learn about different animals each week including goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, capybaras, porcupines, patagonian maras, reptiles and more! We will do a craft and/or fun worksheets related to those animals and then have hands on with them.

When the King of the Pride Lands goes missing, his son must find himself and learn how to protect his land and his people. Follow Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumba, and a colorful cast of animals as they confront the evil Scar and his mangy pack of hyenas in a battle to get their kingdom back. The participants will have a blast in this coming-of-age tale about what it means to believe in yourself, work together and trust in your friends.

This multi-sport program was developed to give children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of the sport are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun. Our Mini-Hawk games and activities were designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. Tee it up this spring with Teach, Grow, Achieve (TGA), a national after-school sports enrichment program. TGA's five-level program brings the golf course to you. Have fun learning the techniques of golf! Great for beginners as well as experienced golfers.

Acting Academy
Develop your acting skills as you collaborate with others student on a short play. Each class begins with fun theater games to build skills that will benefit you both on and off stage. After that, rehearsals take place in preparation for a performance at the end of the quarter. (Depending on the circumstances this might be shared virtually instead of our usual in person showcase.) There are no auditions and all students have speaking parts in the play!

Join KidzArt for our drawing-based art classes. Each week the instructor will guide students through a project while introducing artistic vocabulary and techniques. Students are encouraged to explore their own creativity in a safe and stress-free environment where the focus is having fun and branching out. We will go through an assortment of different mediums which the instructor will provide. No prior art experience necessary.
Running Club with Coach Anne Neuenschwander
2 days/week, Mon/Tues Come enjoy the trails and and have fun in our non-competitive Running Club, where we forget the timing clock! The focus will be on endurance and trail running techniques. We will explore nearby Sabino Canyon on our daily runs of 3-4 miles. Running experience required, students have to be able to run two miles without a break. Sportsmanship and participation will be emphasized. Proper running shoes, a water bottle and a mask are required. Must sign a release waiver when signing up.

Vocal Lessons
Learn techniques for singing modern, popular styles of music. Discover how to sing with more power by learning to let go and work less! Gain a better understanding of your voice type, how it works and your range and how to extend that range. You will focus on exercises and apply them to short excerpts. All to choose your own song, work on it with what you learn and present your song at the end!

In this hands-on class, students will learn the fundamentals of Javascript programming and browser-based 2D games and Javascript graphics. Learn the flowing, beautiful Afro-Brazilian martial art Capoeira with Capoeira Mandinga Tucson. Students will learn kicks, escapes, and fluid moves that build mind and body strength, flexibility, and agility. Students also learn music that drives the energy of the Capoeira game. Capoeira increases balance, creativity, and confidence. Teachers Anne Pollack and Aidan Miller-Wells were honored with a 2019 Southwest Folklife Alliance Award. Aidan has trained capoeira over 12 years. Anne is the only master of Capoeira and Afro-Brazilian arts in the State of Arizona.
Creative Writing
Students will have the opportunity to share their writing and get feedback from peers and their teacher. All styles of writing are encouraged--poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, essay writing, and journalism will be covered and a school newsletter will be produced by the students.

Mobile App Development using MIT App Inventor
Students will learn the fundamentals of programming and mobile app development using MIT App Inventor's visual drag and drop coding interface. Students will design, develop, package and share a series of multimedia mobile apps and interactive games. No prior experience with coding is required to participate in this course. This course introduces students to block-based visual programming. In this program students will learn the fundamentals of programming, sequence and pattern recognition while designing and personalizing stories and animations to bring their creativity and imagination to life. No prior coding experience is required to participate in this class. A tablet is required to access the Scratch Junior app.

Students will learn the fundamentals of programming by combining coding with art and design for unlimited fun with creating multimedia stories, animations and games using MIT's visual drag and drop Scratch programming interface. No prior coding experience is required to participate in this course. A computer or Chromebook with internet connectivity is required to join the course.

Acting Academy
Develop your acting skills as you collaborate with others student on a short play. Each class begins with fun theater games to build skills that will benefit you both on and off stage. After that, rehearsals take place in preparation for a performance at the end of the quarter. (Depending on the circumstances this might be shared virtually instead of our usual in person showcase.) There are no auditions and all students have speaking parts in the play!

KidzArt
Join KidzArt for our drawing-based art classes. Each week the instructor will guide students through a project while introducing artistic vocabulary and techniques. Students are encouraged to explore their own creativity in a safe and stress-free environment where the focus is having fun and branching out. We will go through an assortment of different mediums which the instructor will provide. No prior art experience necessary.

Sunset Cheer
Become a member of the first-ever Sunset Spirit Squad! Sunset Cheer will teach students the fundamentals of performing cheer, dances, jumps, and basic motions. Their experienced staff will also lead students through strengthening and agility exercises all while emphasizing teamwork and school spirit. This is a non-competitive squad that will bring kids together. Price includes a t-shirt and bow.

Learn techniques for singing modern, popular styles of music. Discover how to sing with more power by learning to let go and work less! Gain a better understanding of your voice type, how it works and your range and how to extend that range. You will focus on exercises and apply them to short excerpts. 3D Disney characters, a pokeball, a jewelry box, and a toucan are just some of the MANY things that can be made out of perler beads! In this class children will choose the 3D design of their choice to work on weekly utilizing patterns, their patients and creativity to create something extraordinary! The 3D perler bead patterns work like a 3D puzzle with each side of the structure designed to fit within each other. What will you make? The possibilities are endless! This is a process project class and most 3D projects will take multiple classes to complete.

Art Naturally enrichment classes are for the curiously creative child. Each week we will discover an animal and its environment and how it relates to us. Meet and learn about different animals each week including goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, capybaras, porcupines, patagonian maras, reptiles and more! We will do a craft and/or fun worksheets related to those animals and then have hands on with them.

Students will harness the power of their imaginations as they explore many facets of drama, including improv, scene building, storytelling, and creative movement. They will develop valuable skills like collaboration, public speaking, self-confidence, and the ability to think quickly and creatively; that will help them both on and off the stage.

The Magic of Reading
Welcome to this project-based after school reading program for students who may want more exposure to reading. Reading is the gateway skill to all learning and it is important that children love to read. The "magic" in this program gives the children the opportunity to learn strategies in reading like decoding, comprehension, literary elements, fluency, key details, author's purpose and much more. Students will be taught a strategy and then have to produce something that shows understanding. Dr. Mary S. Florek is a Gifted Specialist in the Catalina Foothills School District. She has her master's in reading and her doctorate in curriculum and instruction. She is currently teaching grades 3-4-5 at Sunrise Drive and Canyon View Elementary. She loves both children and reading!
